Qualities To Look For In A Sitter

The qualities in a sitter should stand out when you meet the person for the first time. The sitter should love kids most of all. The person should be reliable, have their own car, experienced with kids, energertic, and patient. Cpr and First Aid certifications are a big plus for the person to have. The sitter should be able to play with the kids.

Information Helpful To The Babysitter

Phone numbers: pager number, cell phone number, a family members number in case of an emergency


Where you are going: name of place, and the phone number


Schedule: Bedtime, Eating, etc.


Any allergies or things they are alergic to should be written out.

The Rate For A Sitter

Rates are different for each sitter. The rate going now is anywhere from $8/hour to $15/hour. Depending on age and experience will determine the rate.

Other Helpful Hints

The best thing is to go to a childrens place and hire from them. ie Creative Kids, Discover Zone. Anywhere you take your child for classes.




I recommend before you hire a sitter have the person come over to your house and meet your child/children. This is helpful for you and the sitter. First interview the sitter, do not be afraid to ask them questions. If you are happy with the person go over prices with them. After prices, show them what you do with your child. Go over everything ie food schedule, and bedtime routines.




Guys are great sitter's, don't be afraid to hire a guy to watch your children.


Writing out schedules for the sitter is helpful, it is up to you on how structured you want to be.
